About this tool – why I built it

Hey, I'm Naresh – a small business owner and part-time coder. A few years ago, I started selling my pottery online, but soon discovered people were copying my product photos and using them on their own sites. I needed a way to protect my images without spending hours in Photoshop. I tried many "free" watermark tools, but they either uploaded my images to unknown servers or added their own logo. That felt wrong.

So I built this one night. It works entirely in your browser – your photos never leave your computer. I've been using it for my own shop for two years, and now my neighbor who's a photographer uses it to protect his proofs. It's simple, private, and actually works. No sign-ups, no hidden costs. Just upload, customize, and download.

How to add watermark to images (step by step)

Step 1: Click the upload area and select your photos (JPG, PNG, WEBP – mix allowed).
Step 2: Choose watermark type: enter text OR upload a logo image (PNG with transparency works best).
Step 3: Customize: pick font, size, color, opacity, and position (9 positions available).
Step 4: Hit “Add Watermark to Images”. Your browser does all the work; nothing is uploaded.
Pro tip: after processing, you can download each image individually or click “Download all as ZIP”.

Why I always keep this tool open in a tab

I run a small online shop selling handmade pottery. Every week I photograph new pieces, and before uploading to my store, I add a small text watermark with my shop name. This prevents other sellers from stealing my photos. I drag 10 photos, set the text to "NareshPottery", choose a semi-transparent gray, position it at bottom-right, and in seconds all are watermarked. The batch zip download saves me from clicking save on every file. My product photos are now protected, and customers know where the image came from.

My cousin, a college student, uses it for a different reason. He creates digital art and shares it on social media. He watermarks his artwork with his signature using a script font at low opacity. And our neighbor, a wedding photographer, uses the logo watermark feature. She uploads her studio logo and watermarks all proof images before sending to clients.

Tips for effective watermarks

Don't overpower the image – use semi-transparent text (60-80% opacity) so the photo remains visible.
Position matters: corners are least intrusive, but center makes it harder to crop out. For social media, bottom-right works well.
Logo vs text: Use a PNG logo with transparency for professional look. For quick protection, text is faster.
Font choice: Script fonts look artistic, but sans-serif fonts are more readable at small sizes.
Add shadow: Our tool adds subtle text shadow automatically for better visibility on any background.

A personal note – from one creator to another

You know that feeling when you put your heart into something – a photo, a design, a product – and then someone just takes it? Yeah, I've been there. That's exactly why I built this tool.

When I first started my pottery business, I was so proud of my product photos. Then one day, a customer sent me a screenshot of my exact photo on someone else's website. They had just right-clicked and saved it. No credit, no permission. I felt sick.

I looked for watermark tools online, but every single one either wanted me to upload my photos to their server or they plastered their own logo on my images. So late one night, frustrated and tired, I started coding. I thought: what if the tool just lived in the browser? What if nothing ever got uploaded? That night, the first version of this watermark tool was born.

Two years later, this tool has helped thousands of people. A teacher from Texas emailed me saying she uses it to watermark her students' artwork. A small Etsy shop owner in Canada told me it saved her hours of work. That means more to me than any ad revenue ever could.

Here's what makes this tool different: It's not trying to sell you anything. It's not tracking you. It's not storing your images. The code runs right there in your browser. Once you close this tab, everything is gone. Your images, your privacy, your peace of mind – all intact.

Take care of your work,
– Naresh
